WebApr 2, 2016 · Hey guys, I just bought a late 1980s Cat D3B to use around my place. I specifically wanted a smaller machine so i could get around easier between trees and such. It seems like a good solid machine but it does need some attention. Specifically it needs the brakes adjusted or replaced as they require quite a bit if pressure to turn the machine. Make sure the peddals and the bellcranks below them are free. Take them apart, clean and lube if need be. Then check the lever shaft in the housing on top of each clutch.
