It's a collection of files, together with relevant metadata such as file name, time stamps etc. Mounting is something done for 'physical' formats. Like E01. Or dd. Those are collections of sectors, not files. Mounting means (typically) applying a file system ... WebJust to help you out a little, an AD1 container might contain a full disk image, it might not. In the latter there'll be no disk geometry so you won't be able to convert to E01.
